Experience the city through local eyes

About

As tourism in Copenhagen has increased during the last decade, Wonderful Copenhagen wishes for the further development to be continued in a more sustainable manner.  The organization created a new strategy for 2020 which focuses on promoting experiences of ‘temporary localhood’.

Today, there is a new type of traveler, the millennials, who are using social media to inform and enrich their experiences.
Data leads to new opportunities in the tourism sector as it can support stakeholders in providing more personalized offers to their customers and create value for both parts.
The strong growth in the Travel & Tourism sector and the potential of digital tourism create opportunities but also new challenges, especially when talking about its sustainability and its socio-cultural impacts.

This project aimed at creating a meaningful service platform which provide unique and engaging experiences to locals and visitors and reinforce a sense of belonging towards the city.

Outcome

NARRAME is an online platform which allows visitors and locals to discover the multicultural district of Nørrebro in Copenhagen, co-create a digital collection of local memories and engage in the community.

The name NARRAME is a fusion of the two words narrative and memory. The idea behind NARRAME is that the identity of a neighbourhood is built from the collective and the personal stories of the people that reside in or visit the neighbourhood. The stories consist of faces, voices, images, characters, and gestures that together form the historical memory, the complexity of the present and the expectations of the future.
Locals and visitors are invited to co-create the narration of the neighbourhood by sharing and viewing stories through video, images and audio files.

NARRAME is accessible through any connected device. Its core element is a mobile application, which allows to share and explore content. The website allows users to access the platform without the installation of the app.
